Call for Artists:

We're inviting visual artists and makers to join us for a totally creative Instagram auction this fall to help us fund our campaigns for 2020.

Register to be a part of the fundraiser here. You do not have to be a professional artist, nor do you have to join the Artists for the Great Bear Rainforest network. If you can create a 12×12″ piece and sell it, you can participate. Kids are welcome too!

Anything that can fit on a canvas board or within a 12×12″ space, out of any medium.

You sell it in your network, collect payment and ship it (you can charge your buyer for that). You can set your price for it – we suggest a minimum of $200 – and you can donate a percentage of the sale to Pacific Wild. Most artists do a 50/50 or 60/40 split.

Absolutely. But the goal is quality over quantity, and to have a successful event for you as the artist and for Pacific Wild. If you have interest from more than one buyer, or would like to do a series of smaller pieces, by all means, create more!

We plan a media campaign and will be contacting artist groups and networks and inviting their members to participate. And of course all of our Instagram and Facebook followers (almost 200,000) and our newsletter subscribers will know! We’re also counting on all of our artists to share it widely and encourage other artists to participate.

Take a photo or video and post it to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtags #wildauction2019.  We’re going to gather the images and display them dynamically on a special page on the Pacific Wild web site, and promote the auction via our @friendsofpacificwild Instagram account.

Deadline for submissions is November 25, 2019.

We’re going to have an Instagram Auction Week the last week of September. We’ll invite different artists to take over the @friendsofPacificWild Instagram account at set times during the week, and we’ll announce the results of the campaign at the end of the week!

Follow the split guidelines you committed to in your registration, and make a donation via our web site. If you would like a tax receipt, you can choose to donate your funds to the Great Bear Education and Research Project, a really cool part of Pacific Wild that operates in partnership with Tides Canada Initiatives Society.

You have our endless thanks and team love, and we’ll continue to update you on the projects your donation is helping to fund. Professional artists and makers may wish to join our Artists for the Great Bear Rainforest network, where we talk about art and its capacity to effect change, and brainstorm on collaborative projects or run group shows or just continue creating art and products to support Pacific Wild.
