Passage Paddle Story Map

On May 28, 2025, five women launched their kayaks from Telegraph Cove, British Columbia, setting out on an ambitious 1,500-kilometre expedition through the Inside Passage to Skagway, Alaska.

575 kilometres of this will be through the Great Bear Sea.

Click on “The Journey” in the navigation bar below to jump directly to their current progress.

Over the course of three months, they’ll navigate one of the most ecologically rich, visually breathtaking, and vulnerable coastlines on Earth—the Great Bear Rainforest and beyond. This is not just a journey of endurance, but a call to action for marine conservation.

These experienced outdoor guides are traveling self-supported, relying on their skills, strength, and solidarity to carry them across coastal fjords, ancient rainforests, and wild open waters. But their mission reaches far beyond adventure.

Explore the live story map of the expedition below. The map will be updated weekly as we receive field reports and imagery from our Passage Paddlers.
