Job Posting: Digital Asset Management (DAM) Assistant

Pacific Wild is currently seeking a Digital Asset Management Assistant as a part of the Canada Summer Jobs program.

Role Criteria:
The Government of Canada has partially funded this job through the Canada Summer Jobs program. In order to be eligible to participate, applicants must meet the following
criteria:

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the start of the employment period;
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted
    refugee status;
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant
    provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

About Us:
Pacific Wild is the leading voice for wildlife conservation in the Great Bear Rainforest and beyond. Our team develops and implements powerful conservation campaigns that move people in thought and action. Currently, we focus on a variety of issues including sustainable fisheries, marine protected areas, and wildlife management.

Duties:
The Digital Asset Management Assistant (DAM Assistant) will be assisting the IT
and DAM Project Manager in the organizing and cataloging of digital assets (photos and
video footage). The DAM Assistant will spend time scrubbing through footage to identify and catalogue content, input metadata and help create and implement systems to track usage rights.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing and managing the video and photo library catalogue
  • Assist with implementing metadata tagging, and description of various videos
    using a variety of software including Neofinder and Kyno
  • Assist in locating specific photos of videos from the library when requested
  • Assist in scrubbing through footage and creating video subclips for
    campaigns and stock footage collection
  • Assist the IT and DAM Project Manager in other routine tasks and organization

Qualifications and Education:

  • Student pursuing studies in digital asset management, video editing,
    environmental science, library science, or computer science
  • Organized with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions from documentation and
    tasks assigned
  • Ability to identify and differentiate key species in a video or photo
  • Reliable, responsive, and open to feedback and direction
  • Knowledge of metadata, tagging, sub-clips, and library systems
  • Experience or exposure in digital asset management and media
    asset management
  • Experience video editing is an asset
  • Proficiency with Mac IOS, Network Attached Storage systems and Adobe
    Creative Suite are assets

Deadline to Apply: June 16, 2024 at midnight

Dates of Employment: June 24, 2024 for an 8 week period

Salary: $19.50 an hour

Hours: 7-hour workday/ 35 hours per week/ 5 days per week
