Pacific Wild is grateful for the support of artists raising funds for our campaigns. The conservation of the Great Bear Rainforest and the protection of key species in British Columbia needs as many voices as possible. Artists and makers connect the public with the conservation message through pieces that speak to an ecosystem of hope for our fragile coastline, and our future as Canadians and as global citizens.

the what

Run by artists for artists! The #ArtistsfortheGBR is a juried artist network for established professional artists and creators. Established as part of our @friendsofpacificwild initiative, the #ArtistsfortheGBR was set up to support and strengthen the creative lives of artists as they advocate for the protection of the Great Bear Rainforest.

the why

We made the #ArtistsfortheGBR to help raise global awareness of the Great Bear Rainforest. British Columbia’s north and central coast, also known as the Great Bear Rainforest, along with Haida Gwaii, supports the largest tract of intact temperate rainforest left on the planet and is home to an immense array of wildlife. Art inspires, tells a story, and is a beautiful vehicle for change. This is your chance to connect with fellow artists for collaborative projects and stimulating discussion around the transformative power of art and creation.

the how

@friendsofpacificwild jury process is to review any web site, social channels (a social account can be a ‘web site’), artist statement, how work is marketed, and how conservation goals align with the campaigns of Pacific Wild. If you are just starting out as an artist or creator, we invite you to watch for our open Artist/Creator Calls – join our mailing list to hear about them as they launch!
