Join Sitka and Pacific Wild for an evening with ultra-marathon swimmer Susan Simmons as she shares stories of her adventures swimming through the Great Bear Rainforest - without a wetsuit.
Pacific Wild will be co-hosting this event, and will be bringing some sweet giveaways to hand out at the end of the night!
A little about out speaker:
Susan Simmons is a Victoria local who twenty years ago was diagnosed with MS. She has since taken to cold water swimming in order to lessen her symptoms that are aggravated when she begins to overheat while exercising.
In July of last year, she successfully swam across the Juan de Fuca Strait, from Port Angeles to Victoria, as a fundraiser for the MS Wellness Centre.
This year she will be swimming in the Great Bear Sea for the third time in her life and taking on a 60km swim from Fisher Channel to Namu, which also happens to be a whale superhighway.
This event is by donation, with 100% of the proceeds going towards helping fund Susan's journey.
