Wild Auction — A Wild Success!

Earlier this month, 120 artists, individuals, and businesses took part in our third annual Pacific Wild fundraiser – Wild Auction. These donors are committed to conservation in their daily practices, and created pieces designed to bring Pacific Wild’s conservation campaigns into homes and offices of supporters. We received contributions from Brazil, to Norway, to Los Angeles, and across Canada. All contributors generously donated 30-100% of the proceeds to fund our conservation campaigns.

Using an ArcGIS-powered interactive story map, supporters and bidders were able to learn more about the generous artists and businesses taking part in this unique fundraising event to protect ecosystems and wildlife in B.C.

Highlights from this year’s roster of contributors included pieces from B.C. artists like Carole Finn, Ellie Lamb, and Sean Behnsen. Clothing companies including Helly Hansen, Patagonia and Anian also donated outerwear to get folks ready for the summer season. There was also a selection of outdoor expeditions from ecotourism companies that were up for grabs. These included a seven-day coastal sea wolf and wildlife private charter tour for four with SeaForth Expeditions, a multi-day Bella Coola wild adventure trip with Tweedsmuir park Lodge, as well as ski and snowshoe packages from Mount Washington and a two-night stay at Ruby Lake resort.

This has been our most successful Wild Auction since we first began in 2019, raising an astounding 60% more funds for 2022!  We want to say thank you to all of our wonderful supporters who help further conservation goals for the Great Bear Rainforest and British Columbia’s wildlife. Their vision for a balanced ecosystem that includes biodiversity, Indigenous leadership and stewardship, and a move away from traditional western ‘wildlife management’ towards holistic conservation is one we share. It is our privilege to work on these campaigns on their behalf.
