Joint Letter: Support for Coastal Marine Strategy

In April, 19 environmental non-governmental organizations submitted a joint letter to amplify our support and recommendations for an effective Coastal Marine Strategy, co-developed with Indigenous Nations.

Joint Letter: Support for Coastal Marine Strategy

The Coastal Marine Strategy is a comprehensive plan to address the health and stewardship of marine ecosystems and resilience of coastal communities. The strategy, co-developed by the Government of British Columbia and Indigenous Nations, underwent a public consultation period from December 15, 2022 – April 14, 2023.

Together, 19 environmental non-governmental organizations submitted a joint letter to amplify our support for a co-developed Coastal Marine Strategy and emphasize the importance of the work to come.

At present, we’re waiting on the Government of British Columbia to release a “What We Heard” report to summarize the responses gained during the public feedback process. This report is anticipated to be released during summer 2023.
