Say No to Extending the B.C. Wolf Cull

B.C. wants to extend the wolf cull for five more years. We’re saying no.

For over a decade, the BC government has been shooting wolves from helicopters, claiming it protects caribou. The result has been devastating for wolves, while the underlying threats to caribou survival remain unaddressed.

More than 2,800 wolves have already been killed since 2015 — at a cost of over $13 million taxpayer dollars. Meanwhile, the roads, mines, and clearcuts continue to destroy caribou habitat. The science is clear: habitat loss is killing caribou, not wolves. The wolf cull is unethical, unsustainable, and relies on selective science.

We are at a critical moment: right now the government is proposing to extend the wolf cull for five more years.

B.C.’s Caribou Recovery Program  has asked stakeholders for  feedback by June 15th, but there is no official public engagement period.

Pacific Wild is one of several stakeholders invited to provide input, but we believe YOUR voice should be heard t00.

Send us your comments today, so we can include them in our feedback package to the Caribou Recovery Program.
