Some of our most critical campaigns rely on transformative gifts of $10,000 or more from individuals passionately committed to ambitious projects requiring deeper and more sustained investments.
Gifts of this magnitude give donors the opportunity to make a significant and measurable impact for wildlife and ecosystems in B.C.
Major givers power innovative public awareness and advocacy projects:
- FOFF Fish Farms Public Service Announcement (PSA) viral video with William Shatner with a reach of 3 million views
- Short, medium and long-form film projects (including Return of the Great Bear, wildlife shorts, a feature-length film tackling unsustainable fisheries
- Marine Protected Areas being formalized and announced after over a dozen years of participation and work with myriad stakeholders
- Protection of the Great Bear Rainforest Achieving the ban on grizzly bear trophy hunting
- Purchase of our Victoria, B.C. headquarters building
- Building and maintaining a world-class film and photography library using the most up-to-date technology.
Major gifts are often made annually either by donating online, or by sending a cheque that does not incur fees.
If you are considering making a major gift to Pacific Wild, we’d love to talk with you. Contact development@pacificwild.org to schedule a call or zoom meeting with our Executive Director or other members of our team.
Donor Advised Funds (DAFS)
Gifts via Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are becoming more common as wealth transfers between generations. A DAF is a registered charity either representing a group of donors, an individual or a family. The donor-advised fund issues tax receipts, and donors direct the fund advisors to donate to a charity on their behalf. This streamlines record-keeping and tax receipts for the donor.
If you are in Canada and would like to learn more about whether setting up a DAF is right for you, this informative workshop is available online.
